Terms of use
Effective 11 October 2026
The short version. Butterbook is in beta and free to use while it is. Your bakery's data is yours and stays in your Google Drive. Please keep your own judgement on prices and money matters, and tell us when something doesn't look right.
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and TulipShots, a studio in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, which makes Butterbook. By using Butterbook you agree to them. If you're using Butterbook for a business, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.
2. The beta
Butterbook is currently in beta. That means:
- it's free to use during the beta, including any Pro features you choose to try
- features may change, move between free and Pro, or be removed as we learn what bakers need
- there may be bugs, and the app may occasionally be unavailable
- access is by invitation, and we may end the beta or a person's access with reasonable notice
Before the beta ends, we'll tell you what Butterbook will cost and what stays free. You won't be charged anything unless you choose a paid plan.
3. Your Google account
Butterbook runs on Google Apps Script and needs a Google account. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. Google's own terms apply to your use of Google services.
4. Your data
Everything you enter is saved in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. You own it. We don't claim any rights to your recipes, prices, customer details or other content. Butterbook makes backup copies in your Drive, but please keep your own copy of anything important too. Our privacy policy explains what limited information TulipShots receives and how it's used.
You're responsible for the customer details you keep in Butterbook and for handling them in line with the law where you are.
5. Fair use
Please don't use Butterbook to break the law, to store anything you don't have the right to, or to try to get around its access checks, copy its code or disrupt it for others.
6. Prices, costs and numbers
Butterbook's costs, suggested prices, totals and insights are worked out from the information you enter. They're there to help you decide, not to replace your own judgement or professional advice. Please check important numbers, especially before quoting a customer or doing your accounts.
7. No warranty
During the beta, Butterbook is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we don't promise it will be error-free or always available, or that it will suit every purpose.
8. Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, TulipShots isn't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, that come from using Butterbook. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Malaysian consumer law that can't be limited.
9. Stopping
You can stop using Butterbook at any time, and remove its access from your Google Account's third-party connections. Your sheet stays in your Drive. We may suspend access if these terms are broken.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as Butterbook grows. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
